Some time prior to 2002, a group of individuals set up space in a corner of what is now known as the Share & Wear Annex building. Frank Dawson, Len Schaffner and Byron Cole were the primary instigators of the formation of a Computer Club. The club was subsequently moved inside the Clubhouse, and a Computer Committee was formed under the Activities umbrella. In 2004, the Computer Center was given an 'extreme makeover' to accommodate the equipment and make it more user-friendly for the residents who had come to depend on its services.
The committee was dissolved in 2008, and the operation of the Computer Center was turned over to Colleen Eidson, an owner-resident in Oceana, whose faithful dedication and many hours of volunteer service has allowed us to keep the Center open. We now welcome Alan Dolit as our Manager and thank him for volunteering his time and service. This chapter in history will be expanded after further research enables us to fill in the blanks prior to 2003.
